Aesthetic centered around combining nostalgic imagery with ominous, surreal or dreamlike elements.
This most often manifests as late 90s/early 2000s nostalgia, with images often looking like they were taken by early digital cameras. These are then edited with text or imagery (eyes, shadows) to unnerve the viewer or imply an unsafe, surreal, or all around "weird" enviorment.
Sometimes overlaps with liminal spaces and the Backrooms in terms of subject matter, but may also overlap with Frutiger Aero or other web aesthetics when evoking nostalgia.
