Idiot? Thats one of the smartest characters in Touhou you're talking about (Tenshi). Cirno on the other hand...

Considering how much damage Tenshi seemed to be doing to herself, there's more than enough indication that there's something in those swings.

regarding the fight itself, Tenshi is just lucky that it wasn't Okuu attacking Sakuya first (Okuu can also learn to try to not get "parried", which helps their team too). also...

Reimu's barrier was a greater stretch against the magician team. It didn't stop her from winning, though.

With no decent magician participating in this tournament, I'm rooting for team Mokou now, or Sanae's. I'd wish that more Touhous would be able to participate too (even if the prospect of Yorihime participating may sound broken at first. But, even Eirin lost, so, anything can happen)

I don't recall Eirin losing (a match anyway). She was removed via the plot (planned ahead of time) so that it would be Mokou and Kaguya together. Sort of an olive branch to Keine for how their fight went down. As Keine's been masterful and getting Kaguya involved via using Kaguya's knowledge of Kinnikuman against her.

I'm thinking the swollen hands cause Tenshi's attacks to be a bit more random, causing a mis-read by Sakuya.

It's "Kaguya", not "Kagura".
