Googled it. My response was "oh, it's a Yeerk." That, and a sincere hope that it never becomes capable of hijacking the human mind, or things're gonna get real weird real fast in the world.
One must, however, give it props for having evolved the trick of poking its way into a tentacle to turn it into a bird beacon. That's actually pretty clever.
