Except they're not in Gensokyo anymore, and the umbrella isn't very impressive in combat. Plus, these aren't the 'real' Touhous anyways - they're just representations of the artist and his friends, who are normal Japanese tourists and not MMA combat champions.

Kogasa-san reality has her helpless against any real obstacle, just like any normal human. Otherwise there'd be no story as she could've magicked through it all. The abilities only come in when there's humour involved, and it's funnier for the Touhous to get intimidated.
Oh yes. The infamous Chung King Mansions. It is not as scary as you might think but caution is best exercised and I wouldn't hang around there for too long. Common sense helps too.
