    Ah the old British cooking...

Probably where Hie gets it, no clue about Isokaze here...

It's probably edible unlike Hiei's. I just don't know about whether Warspite made it a savory chocolate or just a mess.

Still cute to see even Isokaze get freaked out, though.

Looking at an ordinary stargazy pie is already a bit disturbing at least to me but a chocolate variant is just... Nope!

being bitter means there's high cocoa and little sugar doesn't it? I quite like chocolate that way.

Like a lot of British cooking, it seems like one of those things that just pure straight should not work but probably somehow tastes decent anyway.

It only looks weird. Only, looks weird. Oh, do you know sight and smell affect how things taste in your mouth?

I'm English and I'd never even heard of stargazy pie until I saw it on this site, and I think 95% of the country probably aren't aware of it's existence.

I think Isokaze has bitter chocolate due to burning it, not because she used a lot of cocoa and cocoa butter.

People do know the heads (and tails) aren't supposed to be eaten right? (though I suppose one could go for the tongue, cheeks, and some other bits on them if you were so inclined) Their presence is really almost entirely for shock value and amusement, the pie itself is a pretty bog standard savory fish pie otherwise.

This monstrosity on the other hand... regardless if you're supposed to eat the heads or not chocolate laced with fish oil is going to be nasty.

That's what you'd think... and yet here in the Philippines, Champorado (chocolate rice porridge) is sometimes topped with salted fish for breakfast. I personally haven't tasted it yet, but some people I know swear by the combination.

I've found that the word "delicacy" is a code-term for "crazy-ass shit nobody in their right mind would ever eat."

There's stuff like chocolate-covered ants and such, of course. And not that I'd want to spread the notion of crazy American foods any further than Ido already has, but there were some strange-filling chocolate bars people tried spreading a year or two back, and the one that became really popular was maple syrup-bacon-chocolate bars.

Salt makes sweet taste sweeter, and some people just can't get enough sweetness.

I googled it and...Wha~t? Salted fish? They're trying to balance the sweetness with saltiness, i get it, but why salted fish? In my home country, there's something similiar to this, but we sometimes combine it with sweet mung bean porridge and slice of bread on top of it. Or diced bread.

The normal Stargazy pie tastes savory, kinda bit butter-peppery for me. But no way in hell i'm gonna eat the chocolate, sugary version of it!

    So bitter-
    Pardon me!
    Yet another failure.
What should I do...? I guess I have no choice but to ask for Urakaze's help, do I...
    That's Warspite!
She's a fine English lady, so I should be able to get a helping hand from her!
    Ah, this?
    It's stargazy chocolate!
    and what would it be?
Warspite! I, Isokaze, while bearing shame, would like to ask you a favor...
