If I didn't know it better, I'd say this is a reference to the old German comics of the same name. But that sure would be unexpected from a Chinese artist. Or any non-German artist.

I actually remember a Chinese comic similar (if not identical) to this strip. I'll try to post a link of the picture when I get the chance.
