Kouji's been doing doujin for more than a decade (I still haven't gotten ahold of his really early stuff yet) - I think he might have done something with marriage before...

I think he's going for "I can't hide it anymore - I'm not a real admiral". Kouji set that up during the flashback, and this feels like the right time to sort it out.

Of course, if that's his hangup, it's going to work out a lot better than he thinks. In fact, if that's the way it goes, I'm hoping for Fubuki trying to cut in as he goes on beating himself up, until she finally resorts to shutting him up with a kiss.

Ah, but that's Sukiyaki Club, not Campus; also the artist is down as 孝治, while the one we know and love here is just in katakana as コウジ (or ゆうじこうじ for the two of them together). And with a completely separate twitter and pixiv, I'm rather inclined to think that they're separate people. Plus he'd have to be in two places at once, seeing as the artist for that ero is at a different table (in a different hall!) on the same day as Campus Life is this winter.

As long as that's a ring and not some lab test results on Tokonatsu-kun.

This is Kouji, he's not going to bait-and-switch THAT hard. Compared to some other writers, he's not so married to Status Quo Is God to prevent any form of development at all by forcing everyone to wake up with JR in the shower.
