Actually, Shimakaze is a big target for real-life cosplay... and a lot of girl character cosplayers are male, so.... (A lot of them are surprisingly good at pulling it off, but of course, there's always the big, hairy guys that dress as cute girls.)

There are several jokes and mini-doujins about the idea of something like a male and female Shimakaze cosplayer doing it after the convention and it sort of became its own thing.

Easy to say than done, but I do remember that Shimakaze has her 3 companions to focus fire + her torpedoes = Akigumo has 0 chance of surviving :)
