    Re: The translation, in this case I believe the literal meaning of "To die is to bring impurity..." is the intended one, since this is the Moon and the Lunarians we're talking about. When artists use the word 穢れ in relation to them, they practically always mean the literal "impurity" and not metaphorical disgrace. The exact wording is more arguable, but I'm pretty sure about the meaning.
