As far as I know this is not a "picture". Is a scan of realistic official promotional art done in traditional media vintage 80s movie style. And several elements from it are either anime related or Japanese popular culture, J-Pop related. So it is not "any kind of reference". If you don't happen to know any of those references, I am truly sorry for you, but you are totally wrong.

Come on man, this is a poster of Ready Player One... I don't know what made you think it was Danbooru content, but just because something has a mecha in it it doesn't automatically make it on-topic. It has to be the focus of the image. Not like you could upload a picture of Danny Devito cosplaying as Pikachu and try to argue it's on-topic because people wanted him to be the voice actor in a game, or a picture of Drake reading Naruto.

? LOL As far as I know those are not Danny DeVito nor Drake. Those are Win Morisaki as Daito, the RX-78-2 and the Swordfish II besides many other western culture elements. And it seems to me the focus of the image is distributed between all those different elements, since they are all equally very very important parts of the plot from the actual film (and book) and are not thrown in just for exposition sake or simply cameos at all. Of course, only if you saw the film (or actually read the book) you could know that... and I won't tell anything more or I will be banned for spoiling the film (and book!).
You will all understand when you watch the film. I will appeal the deletion then, so don't worry.

So far 6 approvers believe it breaks the rules, so I really doubt it'll get approved. Even if it does, it won't stay up for 24 hours before someone flags it.
Pictures are generally judged for their own merit/ontopicness. Just because a movie contains anime elements (yes, I know what scene you're talking about), that doesn't make the movie poster itself any more relevant to this site.
Is not a scene. Is a quite long and decisive climax sequence with the Gundam, the Swordfish II and Daito, all 3 of which are elements essential to the movie's plot and are not only cameos at all. Have you seen the film? It seems to me you all have only watched the trailers... So again, I really don't care if it gets deleted. It will probably get appealed by someone some time later after the film is released in Japan on April 20 and the plethora of fan art comes through.

I'm fully aware of that scene. The point is though that this poster has none of that. It's just a bunch of unrelated actors with very tiny references to anime.
...this comment makes me think otherwise. Those "very tiny references" are not simple cameos.They are actually very important parts of the plot since the Swordfish (piloted by Aech) and the Gundam (piloted by Daito) are the main protagonists in a long pivotal epic battle from the last part of the actual film.

?LOL... Yes, it matters. They are not "in the corner". And they are not "references". Everything in the poster appears in the actual film and plays a significant part in its plot... big time! LOL You obviously have not seen the film. Time will prove me right.
