Thanks for putting in one helluva translation note, and explaining the meme's context way better than I could in cnm's comic!

I'm still not sure why an old 2014 meme is being drawn by Chinese artists again, but I'm sure glad they did.

Yummy! A Chinese internet meme. Originated from the 2014.06.09 episode of the Chinese reality TV series X-Change, but only went viral recently. This is already a rather famous meme that has been in circulation for quite some time, but it got a popularity boost from a recent custom online GIF maker that enabled users to add their own dialogue. X-Change was a reality TV series where a child of a rich urban family switched places with a child of a poor rural family for a certain amount of time. The filming focused on the emotional and behavioral changes of these teenagers, recording their reaction toward the drastic environment change. It was, however, a morally questionable show. While the producer claimed that this was to teach a valuable life lesson to participants of both sides, none of the urban participants were actually "changed" that much by the show. On the other hand, the rural participants all showed various degrees of withdrawal syndrome, as they got used to the luxury urban life during filming, and found it hard to fit back in the old rural life. Some were even ruined for life. After several occasions of former rural participants found begging in the city and refusing to go back to their own home, the show was eventually cancelled due to the severe questioning on moral judgment. In this episode where the meme originated, the rich family participant Jingze Wang and two other participants were put into a poor rural family. Wang abhorred the crude condition of his temporary foster home, and was asking the crew to end this exchange immediately. When the foster family grandpa asked him to stay, he replied with the exact lines in this memoticon. After several hours (minutes in the show), he finally succumbed to his hunger and started to dine with his foster family, even wholeheartedly praising the very food he firmly refused to touch. Use this meme to mock anyone who expressed a strong disgust for doing something, but ended up doing it willingly or even liking it. It can be self-deprecating.
