Need help translating the Professor's admonition here. Literally I think it's "Just because it's delicious, even if you pilfer more than your fair share, it's useless," but I don't get what she's trying to say with that.

I think it's literally "It's useless to try to pilfer more than your fair share just because it's delicious," though, I'm not sure that makes sense as English.

The point is that, Professor suspects that Lycaon is trying to get more cupcakes because they're delicious and tells her that Alpaca won't let it happen (thus it's useless).
