    As much as I would love to see that. It all depends on if the devs make her skills good and not crap. Lots of characters in AL suffer from bad nonsensical skills, I hope she doesn't join in on that.

    Skills are only part of the problem.
    Victorious has more or less average for SSR CV stats, solid skills, good aircraft efficiency, 2/3/3 loadout, but she was given garbage level reload, making her compete not with Enterprise, Foxes and Cranes, but with SR carriers instead. All of her good points are just crossed out by a very low compared not only to SSR, but also to SR carriers reload.

    The Essex class didn't "mop up" they decisively won the war.

    The Pre-war carriers had fought Japan to a standstill, but by the middle of 1943 the frontline wasn't really vastly different then it was a almost a year earlier. The USN had crawled a bit further up the Solomons and New Guinea, but that was it. The central pacific was uncontested and the IJN wasn't even CLOSE to defeated as pitched evenly matched surface actions were still occurring in the Solomons and they in fact had just as many operational fleet carriers as the USN at the start of the year.

    The Essex class would change all that. Within a year they would break the back of the Japanese Navy and have collapsed their frontlines thousands of miles inward. The pre-war carriers held the line, but it was the Essex class that smothered the Japanese Navy under the big blue blanket.

    About her

    I like her a lot.

    As far as I've been using her, she's quite a monster.

    For defense, her Perfect Evasion skill is like playing dice. While it can save the entire fleet, but better don't rely on it too much. It also requires 4+ American ships, so it's something to consider.

    Her passive air power buff skill is superb if you're using 3 American CVs backline. And if you have Sirius available, put her and enjoy even more air power buff.

    Her attack skill is quite decent. Especially when you're facing a lot of BBs. She often compete with Enterprise (on my end) for highest damage. Damage is quite comparable to owarida.

    Sure it looks underwhelmed from a glance, but give her a try when she comes to EN later.

    She's a great support CV, and a monstrous strike CV when you're going full American.
