    真的不知道该说设么,就是感觉,只有画的时候能暂时放下,但是眼泪就是不停的流。真的,明明就是一个又苦又累还没钱的职业,则么就要这么告别呢。以画代蜡

    .

Don't know what to say. I feel that only drawing can keep my mind off this, but I can't stop my tears. Seriously, it's an extremely demanding job with poor pay, why does it have to end like this? My drawing is my condolence.

Really horrifying. And a shockingly high death count for an act of arson. I'm wondering why so many bodies from one fire?? Don't modern office buildings have fire drills and escape plans?

It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the arsonist may have purchased 40 L (10.5 gal) of gasoline at a nearby gas station before entering the studio. Was stated that he had sprayed fuel at various locations on the first floor before igniting it though.

The arsonist clearly hasn't watched any KyoAni productions.

EDIT: Also the thread about the investigation here

Jesus Christ! So that's not just a spontaneous act of criminal passion. That's straight-up premeditated terrorism. God damn, awful beyond words.

Japanese officials now state the death toll is up to 33 (edit: 12 men, 20 women, and one currently unknown).

There is only so much you can do with fire codes to passively protect occupants from an arsonist who is actively determined to kill people with their actions.

    edit: saw the other responses.

This whole thing is just horrifying.

Especially when the arsonist blocked all fire exits, set all windows ablaze, and poured gasoline on anyone attempting to pass through it.

Apparently the guy has no known connection to the company in any way, and was out for their blood because they "plagiarized him". A sick man who deserves everything the justice system will throw at him.

He will for certain get the death sentence after waiting for 5-7 years, but i would rather have him rot in a cell for the rest of his life.

So apparently a TV Asahi report mentions that the guy was a former employee. Definitely will need to wait for the full picture now.

Sentai has set up a GoFundMe for the families of the victims. Donate a buck or two if you can.

"Witnesses say that when asked by police at the scene why he had set the fire, the man said “They did pakirui.” Pakuri is the Japanese word for copying another’s art or creative work, though the indistinct nature of the Japanese language makes it unclear whether the man was accusing Kyoto Animation of copying his work specifically, or that of another creator/creators."

Still, this can't justifying such a horrible crime this asshole has done. I hope he will paid for what he has done and rot in hell.

My condolences to the families of the victim of this incident.

And not it's back to the man being disassociated with the company again. Yeah, it's a roller coaster of contradictory info here.

Oh, believe me, my faith in humanity dropped to below zero after few people in other sites commented that they'd be more bothered by Violet Evergarden movie being delayed compared to 30+ lost lives.

I keep reading this was the largest mass-murder incident since WWII, but I'm sure there was some kind nerve gas attack in the 90s that was worse. Some cult that hit a subway during rush hour.

13 people died in that attack 50 injured. This has a greater total death count but less injured, and that not including people who are missing.

This is worse than that. Only thirteen people died in the '95 sarin gas subway attacks.

So many lives lost over such meaningless violence.

My deepest condolences to the victims and families of the victims of the people whose lives were lost/injured, they didn't deserve this kind of torment.
