Well, she's unlucky with directions, right? Cursed, even? So she should naturally do whatever divination doesn't suggest -- in fact, she should do the opposite. That's why she's turned exactly 180 degrees from the angle the stick suggested.

She's actually going the way the stick told her to go. Note the twig stump near its top, and the fact that it dropped to her right.
