given that she can breathe underwater, it makes sense for her to have gills but having them there would cause some issues right? Like for example wearing clothing over them could block them (imagine putting a wet towel over your mouth and then breathe, it would be literally like waterboarding) or worse, lint from the clothing would be sucked into the gills. If the gills would be higher up like on the neck, it would cause less issues....
