Trimming off a few seconds of black space is one thing, but trimming off the names of people who've contributed to something feels a bit iffy

Yeah, that's basically the same as editing out the artist's signature, and is well beyond a "reasonable" edit.

I don't understand this. The video can't be uploaded otherwise because it would be over the allowed video length, so I'd rather have the video with the credits cut out than no video.

I'd like to know how hdk5 cut out the video though. If it was done losslessly like with LosslessCut, then I'd have no issues.

Technically, we still have topic #14647, but it doesn’t seem like anything’s been accepted there for a long time.

If removing the credits is the only way to make it under the length limit, then I think the uploader should at least include screenshots of the credits so the information is not lost (in this case, the child post has the credits, though I still think screenshots should be provided to make it clear).

When we get another wave of artists issuing DMCAs cause people found out we were cutting credits from videos, I guess I'll know who to thank.

Evazion has said multiple times we are not a video hosting site. If we have to make substantial edits to a video to upload it, then we don't need to upload it. Imagine trying to make this argument for cropping the artist signature out of an image to meet a resolution limit or something.

These are the only credits that were cut out. Besides the BGM from Blue Archive, all the artists involved in this work has been tagged.

This seems like an overreaction based on no substance. And I consider Danbooru to be an archive of art, which is the reason why I'm defensive about this post getting flagged for a trivial reason.
