No, I don't think it's up in the air. It's pretty much guaranteed that at least the events will continue as usual. From what I remember, Summer banners have always consistently generated the best revenue out of all banners for each individual year. Don't know any recent numbers, but would be surprised if it's different now.

I think by “up in the air” they mean that anything goes for the next year, so even old first year servants might be up for summer units. They’ve already confirmed the next anniversary is being planned, and 100% the game will keep going when it’s still earning over a billion dollars a year.

The only thing "up in the air" is whether or not Part 3 is on FGO1 or FGO2. They have a likely Part 2.5 to decide.
