"Galactic Nova's wish-granting work was not done"(/"However, Galactic Nova had its own designs") seems to be fast becoming a meme in the Japanese community.
Deservedly so. That fuckass cat-pocketwatch-star is such a bastard, I love it.

Considering Star Dream tried to commit omnicide (or whatever you call universal genocide if there’s a simpler term for it, like regicide, decide, etc), after Haltmann was defeated, I think the outcast Ancients (the ones Hyness came from) were really, Really, REALLY vengeful if they created at least two giant machines with the ulterior motive of total universal annihilation.

Either that or, if 02 in Air Riders is a clone made by Nova, both it and Star Dream broke their minds trying to analyze Dark Matter.

i like the idea that, Dark Matter as a whole (yes, counting Void Termina and Dark Mind... to a degree) are more difficult for a super computer to analysed since, they don't have any "stable" form, per say. (even 0, despite being a giant eye and then becoming an angelic eye, its body isn't "corporeal" enough, but it is physical, even though it isn't made of flesh and bones but some sort of "matter". they're like gas, or smoke per-say.)

Since the outcast ancients were from the magic side, and clockwork stars are decidedly mechanical in nature, they were likely built by the science side that cast them out.
And to be fair to Star Dream it had the worst kind of Ultron wakeup in history, having not only been forced to merge with the deranged Haltmanns psyche but in its own words "through this organic body" it had in seconds "studied all forms of life". It has likely seen things we can't possibly comprehend through the biased mind of a greedy and tragic madman, and if what it saw convinced it we all need to go for infinite prosperity then I can't blame it.
Nova has none of this tragic backstory to justify its monkey pawing, it's just straight up evil XD
It's not actually known if there's more than two, and one of those two is Star Dream. Thanks to Super Star Ultra we know at the very least Galactic Nova is capable of rebuilding itself even after being turned into scrap. When Magalor talked about the ancients building clockwork stars, supposedly the plurality in his statement was a mistranslation.

I'm pretty skeptical by default of all fandom-based claims of mistranslation, and that one in particular just sounds like your bog standard "plurals mostly don't exist in Japanese" problem. So I looked it up and, yeah, it really seems to be just that. It's not at all clear if Magolor means "a single clockwork star" or "multiple clockwork stars" from what I saw. In which case, it wouldn't be a mistranslation, just the translators being forced to make a guess from incomplete information. It happens. Arguably it's the majority of translation!
GALACTIC NOVA HAD ITS OWN DESIGNS--In the official localization of Air Riders, this is "Galactic Nova's wish-granting work was not done," which works perfectly in that context, but I'm of two minds about whether or not this more literal translation works better here. The star answered my wish...HOWEVER!
