This is the Japanese cover art for the Warhammer Fantasy novel Drachenfels, Apologies for the low quality, tried to find a higher quality upload but alas to no avail.

Yeah? I mean, western TTRPGs are very popular in Japan, or so I heard. Dungeons and Dragons's after action report got turned into Record of Lodoss War (and then it became its own game, Sword World, that I briefly tried online and who is brutal), and there's that Chronicles of Mystara arcade games who, as I heard, were fairly successful. They're on Steam too, really fun.

@FRien: Warhammer is not a roleplaygame but a wargamme and I don't know if the genre is popular in Japan.

Also It's not because a license is popular in europe or North America, mean they will be popular everywhere else.

Your mention of Dnd being remplace by RoLW is the perfect example.

Plus I wasn't talking aboot the game but the novel, especially such an obscure on like Drachenfels, who at some point Game Workshop thelself are not sure if they still have the right.

Thank you, that's all I needed to read to know exactly where you stand.

Warhammer Fantasy has a TTRPG since basically it's inception, Wargames IIRC aren't that big in Japan but not sure about Warhammer Fantasy Role Play.
