It's not exactly cropped if the artist uploaded post #9141005 first and added the extra stuff here later, is it? And the example it gives on that line in the wiki (post #1540326), despite being uncropped, is lower resolution and currently set as the child of post #1540323. And that's only in the "when to use post relationships" section, the relevant section you should be looking at is "Choosing the best parent".
Most recent active revision. There are exceptional cases where the latest revision is worse (ie, much smaller resolution, unless both are already absurdres) than the previous image
This post doesn't seem to revise the art in the first place, just shrinks it down and adds an additional section.

Your argument only applies to cases involving identical images, like post #9753195. Since when do we call it 'the identical images' when one is unidirectionally contained within the other?
