For whatever reason, most of the Japanese players haven't figured out/don't care that they gave him Lapras now.

That and the fact that you guys haven't figured out that this is the "original" red. Not the remade one.

I thought the old outfit he's wearing gave that away. Or the Espeon even.

When was Red and his Pokemon team considered a spoiler?

I never understood why they decided to replace Espeon with Lapras. Like adding another electric weak Pokemon did any good.

Did you say something in denial?

Clearly the artist is drawing the original Red and not the remade version, therefore Lapras is not included to further that point even more so.

Like I said, the outfit is a dead give away more than anything.

Also the place. You fight Red at the top in SS/HG, not inside the cave.
