Youkai are a lot stronger than humans all-around physically (except maybe Magicians). Natually this should also apply to their backs. Plus, with Meiling's martial arts she's probably especially strong-bodied and could carry around such melons all over a fight without much effort.

Even super-strength wouldn't save those. One super-quick turn is all it would take for general laws of physics to say that those babies are getting torn from her body. No muscles in those, so that's irrelevant.
