That would only HEAT UP the wire...for electrocuting it requires two different poles. Asit is now it would only heat up the wire like in a lightbulb - Auch for failing in electrostimulus! But at least it looks good.

Unless both wires are in fact the same, one pole, while the second one is simply grounded...

This is basically the same effect as why birds don't explode when they land on power lines. The wire is an easier route to ground than the bird is, therefor it ignores it and continues along. The wire is a faster way to ground (on the battery) than the girl, this she'd just be on top of a warm wire. You have to pretty much make the girl the only path the electricity can follow to get to the ground for it to shock her so removing the second wire would likely route it through her crotch and out of her ankles into the shackles.

assuming of course that the voltage and/or current were powerful enough to overcome the bodies electrical resistance.

I was electrocuted (unwillingly) by melted covering on a wire which I couldn't see (I didn't shock myself mind you). It's not particularly pleasant, but I'm still here, it started to affect my nerves a lot along with some parts of my skin acting oddly.

I am amazed how many people are saying this wouldn't shock her.... Has nobody here ever seen an electric fence for like cattle or horses? It's a solid wire that can shock the hell out of you and without killing obviously.

But electric fences don't work like this.

As it has been already said, the ground (let's assume negative pole, blue wire in this case) should be attached to her directly.

In electric fences the ground is... well, grounded. The voltage is high enough to give electric shock through fence-body-earth circuit.
