If you look closely, you can almost see Ran going "Well, shit."

Looks like those paper things Mokou has aren't 100% fireproof. The one she has as a ribbon is on is burnt up a little.

The right arm of Mokou's shirt is ripped off to the shoulder. ...The rest is slightly torn on certain areas, and... A bit dirty!

And now comes her first visible move. What's she gonna do? My bet is on a fire punch!

In an free-ranged fight, Mokou is not exactly something to be underestimated. I suspect Ran took her foe a bit too lightly. In this series, you can't make mistakes like that and expect to win. Just ask Iku and Tewi.

It was never comfirmed that the talismans were made for that, it's purely fannon.

Mokou just won't go down.
You pretty much have to either make her give up or hope she gets tired of fighting.

It's like pounding away at someone, then when you're dead tired, they just get right back up. That has to be the most awful feeling.
