    Sooo, lets see here.

Baby Mikos fly using their ribbons, when they grow larger and the ribbon cannot support them they mount wise turtles, until they are old enough to magically propel themselves

Or, in the case of yukkuris which have the ribbons being part of the body itself, its used for identification, to show emotions (much like wagging a tail), and its condition is indicative of the condition of the miko itself.

If you're Miko's Ribbon does not flap or appears to be damaged, "unpoofy", it may be indicative of health risks.

As for turtles, its the opposite. They rely on magical wise turtles to learn more about flying before they spread their own wings, so to speak, and fly on their own. For a Miko to be confident and strong enough to learn how to fly under her own power is pretty unique.

But most Miko's are extremely lazy, like cats, and if there is an easier option than doing all this hard stuff, they will just bully their owner until their needs or met. If their needs are not met, they will make your life hell.

The Reimu breeds take too much effort to take care of when they mature. Thats why I prefer the Sanae line.

Not to mention they are more expensive.

Although they have more wit about them than the Sanae line. Sanae tends to be rather air-headed.

You could always go for the older Reimu breeds. Although I heard due to illegal poaching, they're on the endangered species list.

Touhou Biology 101: Hats, ribbons, misc. accessories are a part of a girl's anatomy. Removal may prove detrimental to their health except in certain situations.

    Males are excluded.

In some cases, removal can be detrimental to your health instead.
