Yep, she's introduced in book six of the manga, reading her books while wearing Akarin's panties on her head. Seems she never opens her eyes.

I do hope Akane makes an appearance in the anime, I think the series only has a few episodes left of it's run. Hopefully it will get a second series very soon.

On a side note, I'm amazed no one has made any of those 'can't be this cute' OreImo parody pics for Akari and Akane. I'd make one myself if my art skills weren't worse than Chinatsu's.
