...Far worse, considering that from the indications that I can remember they are in Hakugyokurou, an alternative of Hell...

No... Hakugyokurou is just the afterlife. I THINK it's where spirits go while they wait to be reincarnated, so it's more like a compromise between Heaven and Hell. No eternal bliss, but no eternal suffering either.

It does mean that, at the moment, Reisen is technically dead.

It also means she is in a place where immortals can't reach her.

to be fair, Kaguya is probably too busy beating the shit out of Mokou right now.

Vice versa with Mokou, too. Let's not forget, they're probably still cuffed together to even bother with anything or anyone else.

I don't think Kaguya is the one she'd be worried about.

The impression i get of Hakugyokuro is that in some ways, it's funner than heaven as I doubt Yuyuko would be boring company. And if Heaven was as perfect as they say, we shouldn't have Tenshi causing trouble.

well, it's debatable whether Eirin is immortal or not.

Looking at her backstory, I think Tenshi's more of the exception that proves the rule. Given the emphasis on how she's a really shitty excuse for a celestial who didn't do anything to earn her way in, I get the impression that her dissatisfaction with her afterlife is intended to be a problem with her, rather than a problem with Heaven.

If she was dead, she wouldn't have a mortal body. Spirits/ghosts can also wander into the living world, that doesn't make them technically alive.

Eirin appears in Hakugyokurou in IN's Ghost Team's Final A ending. Yuyuko "tries" to get Eirin to drink a deadly poisonous tea, while Eirin knows the tea is lethal because Yuyuko told her the flower from which the tea was made and asks Yuyuko why she would want her (Eirin) to die, to which Yuyu replies that she would benefit from having a medic around her. (logic, Gensokyo, pick one)

When Youmu asks if she can drink the tea, Yuyuko tells her, instead, that the tea is too classy for her to drink :D

Buddist Hell=/=Shinto Hell=/=Christian (or other Common Western view of) Hell

Shintoism has it where everyone's going to hell unless they get an invitation... well, actually Shintoism has 'Yomi', which in itself is not a hell but rather a suppliment of hell...
Buddism also follows a similar route, but makes exemptions for certain devout Budists.
It's actually quite confusing to get deep into for the layman and it'd take several pages to explain, which I'll refrain from here.

    Aah...
    So that's how it is.
You don't need to say that just to be polite, you know?
    I meant it.
