Then again, what was the general feel at all in this series? I've seen these types of series before. As much as I don't take them seriously, I can't help but think that there's no way that these series were made without some level of contempt in mind, especially when an artist continues this trend.

Contempt.. If you wanna see contempt, go read Ponjiyuusu's doujins. Nearly all of it are all focused on the torment or embarrassment of Remilia. I'm even more surprised that no one seems to notice it.

Well, if it's crying-moe, the fact that the guy's definitely going to die afterwards make this totally worth it ("I HAVE NO REGRETS!")
OR, what if all of this is a wake-up call of sorts? Trolling you to the realization that, well, we're getting pissed off at a drawing. I see it as culture bombing (like say, Media theory: we adapt Touhou to what we want to see/experience, which is happy stuff, cute stuff, and the occasional shallow sad stuff. But when there are things outside of what we want to see, we reject it completely.)
