Looking at some of their rigs, aren't they actually English-kanmusus turned Abyssal?

While these designs are fantastic, they are not giving me a shinkaisei-kan vibe. They are way too clean and dressy.

Even Anchorage Water Oni, or the cocktail dress on Battleship Oni/hime. we've had some dressy Shinkaisei-kan.

Compared to the average, more dresses, tails, and armor; fewer horns, leg amputations, and Hollow masks. I like the idea of groups of Abyssals in different parts of the world having different styles, like Davine Lu Linvega's band of Silicon Creatures having a slightly different character to Ivy and Maeve's group.

I do agree, I remember a similar style in Milihime Taisen despite the fact it's Land Warfare in Europe. Bonus that one event they'll face a abyssal-tier Battleship
