I add what I consider to be essential tags, such as characters depicted, artist, and series info. I also provide a translation for the text in the image. Other users are welcome to add other tags as they see fit.

Having 0 general tags on your uploads is not acceptable, translations or not. Refer to howto:tag and howto:tag checklist for more info.
