I love durians! I don't even find the smell particularly offensive. Perhaps it's similar to how some people can't smell asparagus in urine?

I've never had durian, but I did have durian cake at a relatives birthday party.
Smelt terrible, tasted terrible, and made my breathe smell absolutely rancid.
Guess it's a really, really acquired taste like century egg, balut, or cha trung.

Now I'm confident this artist is Malaysian. What next? Cempedak?
