The VF-11 Thunderbolt was the main U.N. Spacy variable fighter during the events of Macross Plus and Macross 7. It is similar to the VF-0Phoenix from Macross Zero and the original VF-1Valkyrie from Choujikuu Yousai Macross, but has a more advanced airframe and canards for better maneuverability inside an atmosphere. It was succeeded by the VF-171Nightmare Plus.
