A hairstyle in which most or all of the hair is gathered at the back of the head and secured with a hair tie, scrunchie or similar device; and allowed to hang freely from that point.

This tag is specifically for plain ponytails at the back of the head. Do not use this tag with side ponytail or with single braid.

Though frequently shortened to just pony, it should not be mistaken for the animal.
